Premise: Pink (played by Anne) works for a historical clothing museum that is preparing to introduce a new exhibit on Qi Pao (traditional Chinese wedding dresses). The owner of the 30 Qi Pao to be displayed  has sent his son Jao Ming Tian (played by Smart) to make sure that the precious clothes are treated with care. Upon their meeting Pink and Ming Tian get into a fight because she believes he is a thief trying to get his hands on the very valuable dresses. For his part Ming Tian is stunned partly because of Pink’s fierce protection of the Qi Pao but mostly because she looks almost exactly like his dead girlfriend, May Lee.

After their initial confrontation Ming Tian leaves the Qi Pao in Pink’s possession. As she is pulling the dresses out for display, she encounters a thirty-first Qi Pao. This one was not packed as the others were but since it was included in the packages, it’s decided that it will be displayed like the others. This Qi Pao is also noticeable younger than the others, and since it isn’t a historical artifact Pink decides to try it on. When she does, she is possessed with the memory and experience of the previous owner’s last living moments.

In the light of the morning, she thinks that it was all just a dream but there is definitely something going on with the dress. Who was the previous owner, and why was she murdered? How is she related to Ming Tian and his family?

We’ll have to watch to find out.

Full House 2/ Take 2 Informationa and First Impressions

Episodes: There are 16 episodes, but they have been broken up into two parts each for a total of 32 episodes, each 30 minutes long.

Show Premise: Lee Tae Ik and Won Kang Hwi are a K-Pop duo, Take One, that is famous throughout Asia, but even with their success they fight all the time. Tae Ik takes everything too seriously and is usually seen in an unfavorable light while Won Kang Hwi rolls with the punches and is the most adored member of the the group.
Jang Man Ok- man ok meaning full house- is the granddaughter of a taekwando master and even though she loves her grandfather and the dojo, she dreams of being a full time designer as she keeps her online mall a secret.
Man Ok get tangled up with Tae Ik and Kang Hwi in more ways than one, when she becomes their fashion coordinator. Let the games begin!

Now with all the official stuff out of the way, I wanted to post up my thoughts on the first episodes.

At first I wasn’t even going to watch this new edition. The first Full House starring Bi was cute but nothing really great, so I had concerns about how they could improve, especially since they kept postponing the release date. The cast doesn't seem bad with Min Woo ( My Girlfriend is a Gumiho), Jang Eum (Can You Hear My Heart) and Ki Woong (Bridal Mask), so what was the problem? The stills that were released all made the show seem overly dramatic and cheesy, and honestly after such a serious year, for me at least, in KDrama, I wasn't sure how ready I was for a cheesy show.

After watch the first episode I now know that my thoughts were correct. This show is cheese and more cheese, but it’s like any other disaster, you can’t seem to turn away no matter how bad it looks, mostly due to the fact that you can’t believe what you’re seeing.

The hair? Poorly done for the three leads. Hwang Jung Eum has an old lady’s hairdo, which gives girls with curly hair a bad name. No Min Woo had a fight with the curling iron, and Park Ki Woong dunked his head in a vat of peroxide.

  The fashion is brow-raising and quirky.

Stars and Leopard and Skulls...

 The dialog and plot are predictable, so why do I want to keep watching?!?

Is it No Min Woo’s pretty face? The hate-hate relationship that Min Woo and Ki Woong have for each other, which was displayed in their fight over a designer scarf.

He really wanted the scarf...

 Or is it just the hope that this will be funny? 

So Far they have managed to surprise me twice. The first was the kiss at the end of the first half.

 

Al Chun-ah!!!

The second was discovering Lee Seung Hyo in the cast. He played Al Chun in Great Queen, and I developed a bit of a crush on him. 

To see him and three leads in this sort of show, makes me curious. Will this show turn out to be a lovely cheese fest or will it just fall into the category of an utterly ridiculous waste of time? I will, reluctantly, find out.

Raeng Ngao Information

 I think it’s kinda strange that so many lakorns are remade within a few years of their predecessors. The most notable one right now seens to be Raeang Ngao. Notable because of the lead actresses in both the previous and the current versions.

Anee Thongprasom  and  Ken (the older one) starred in the 2001’s Rang Ngao, and I suppose that ten years is a long enough gap to interest new viewers in an old story line, but it just seems a little weird since Anne and Ken are still strong forces in the Lakorn community. Janie and Ken (the new one) have some pretty big shoes to fill.

Premise: Mootha is a sweet and naïve girl who moves to the big city to make money. She finds a job and falls in love with the boss. He is married with kids and when the fairytale breaks, she takes her life in sadness. Her twin sister, Moonin returns home to hear the news of all the things that happened to her sister, and decides to take on her sister’s life and go back for revenge.

Janie will play the role of both sisters, while Ken is the ex-coworker of Mootha and her friend, Veekit.

Raak Boon/ Holy Source Info

This drama is yet again another first for me. I haven't- to date- watched a horror or scary themed lakorn. But after the success of Arang and the Magistrate in the supernatural arena, I figured I would give Raak Boon (RB) a chance.

Premise: A mysterious box named Raak Boon, is passed on person to person. The box allows you so see ghosts, and in order for the box to grant any wish to it's owner, they must listen and help the spirits that appear in front of them. To dismiss them and their pleas, can have dire consequences, but to help them and make a wish can shorten you life time. Jay (played by Margie), just happens to be the newest owner tasked with helping the dead. A job that is made harder because her boss Ton (played by Mike), is out to make sure she quit the company.

Panya Chon Kon Krua/ Kitchen Scholar Information

Premise: Aem (Kimberly) is the daughter of a government official and is raised as a rich lady, but when her professor tells her class that the winning script will grant the author a scholarship to New York, she decides that she needs more life experience.

After trying many types of jobs, she ends up working as a maid in the house of another rich family. Everything would probably have gone well if it wasn’t for Tam (Mark), a family friend, trying to catch her in a lie, another maid being jealous of the attention she is receiving, her roommate being a lesbian, and her friend following her into servitude because he can’t live without her.

*I’m interested to see how this will play out. Will she be discovered as a fake early on in the show, or will they drag it out until the end? I’m going to watch because of Mark, but also because I think this pairing is cute. I know some don’t like it because they played siblings in ‘Thara Himalaya’, but it’s acting…it happens.

Hyuna's Ice Cream MV

The last solo video from Hyuna that I watched was Bubble Pop. I thought the video was pretty racy for female Korean artist and thought- 'hey let me go see who this girl really is'. I thought she might be like Koda Kumi, an sexy ADULT woman, who was just a little more sexual than the norm. I was suprised to find that she was only about 19 at the time the video came out, and it kinda put me off.
I know that America is pretty liberal with the music videos, but it really disturbed me to see a teen rolling around and crawling on the floor.When I saw that her new video 'Ice Cream' was even named ice cream, my first thought was to avoid it,but then I decided to give it and her a chance. I video was cute and thankfully she wasn't licking vanilla ice cream lasciviously for the cameras. Don't be mistaken, there was plently slutty sexiness in the video, but it wasn't so upsetting this time around. Maybe I'm just getting used to her.

Nillili Mambo MV

The last time we saw Block B, they were out with the single 'NalinA', now they're back with 'Nillili Mambo'- do  they love the wacky names and hooks or is that just me?
Anyhoo, they're back and this new video was filmed in Vietnam, and what I appreiciate most is that they have an actual video. There were sets, a plot and action, not just the sparkly room and dancing.
It's pretty rare to see in a KPop video, and since I watch so much, it's nice to have a change.

I loved the thievery and piracy they had going on in this MV, it's fun to watch and the boys looked like they had fun filming it. Because of the antics in the video and the crazy addictive hook, it has been added to my 2012 Fall Favorites on YouTube.
