Ghost/ Phantom

I just finished episode 8 of this series, and I felt like I had to write something about this show before it ended. I want to capture how I feel about the show now, because I'm not sure if the momentum can be kept up by the writer until the end of production.

First let me start by giving a few facts about the show:
Name: Ghost or Phantom
Genre: Mystery, Thriller
Year: 2012
Starring: So Ji Sub and Lee Yeon Hee
Writer: Kim Eun Hee (Sign, Harvest Villa)

Now, since the first episode, I have been drawn in by the twists and turns in this drama. I’ll try to explain without giving too much away.
So Ji Sub plays the head policeman in the Cyber-crimes unit and is very good at his job, but there seems to be some mysteries surrounding him and elusive hacker that only goes by the name of Hades. By the second episode something that at least I was not expecting at all, happens. You have to watch to find out.
This show reminds me of American action police shows like the Mentalist or the Japanese drama Boss. There is an overall mystery and mastermind that needs to be caught, but each episode features a new murder case. For now I think this show is doing a great job, because they never take us so far away from the “real” crime that set up in the beginning. Not to say that they skimp on the current cases, only that they make everything feel as though it’s somehow a part of this grand puzzle that needs to be solved.
The only problem that I’ve had is some of the crimes are a little predictable, as far as ‘who-done-it” but at the same time, those crimes usually lead directly into the next crime which I can’t predict.
I really like this show so far, the suspense has me sitting on the edge of my desk chair, wide-eyed  and tensed in anticipation of what’s next, but surely, this can’t last. I hope it does, but so often I’m disappointed by shows that start off great and end with me feeling cheated. I really hope Ghost isn’t going to join the list of dramas that let me down. Sara was sent to study abroad when she was only 15, but now that she's back at the age of 22, her family realizes that sending her away when she was so young, may not have been the best option. Sara has adopted western ideals and speech patterns while she was in England, and isn't a proper lady by Thai standards. This is a problem since she is supposed to marry into an old hi-so family as a part of her father's dying wish. Three teachers are brought to live in the house with her, so that they might transform her into a elegant lady, but Sara doesn't want that. She likes to have fun, and doesn't want to change for anybody.

My Opinion-
The show was going really well until episode the end of Episode 27.  In a fit of jealousy (Tye) rapes Sara. There are things that can happen between husband and wife but I just don't see any reason or explanation for rape. this totally ruined the show for me. Honestly, it didn't make sense with the way the show had been going, up to that point. there was no reason behind it in the script. did this action make their marriage better or bring them closer? I highly doubt it. Were we supposed to hate Tye in the end? No, because they end up together. ridiculous. this drama is the reason why i will include a 'Rape Drama' or 'No Rape Drama' for each THDrama that I watch and blog about.
